The famous building that is said to be the inspiration for the bath from the film "Spirited Away" and the setting for Natsumi Soseki semi autobiographical novel "Botchan." Dogo is one of the most famous onsen in the nation. Inside the giant bathhouse are various levels of service at various prices. The basic bath is on the first floor and offers a basic single tub. The building itself is quite amazing and highly recommended for any fan of the book, film or onsen but be forewarned this is a very popular tourist attraction. You won't find a quiet bath here. For more ¥1,250 you can go to a smaller, less crowded bath with service that includes a yukata, green tea, senbei, a tour of the museum in the building and access to a tatami room to relax in.
