*Closed* Down and old and tired shotengai across the street from Hanshin Deyashiki station in the heart of downtown Amagasaki is this rather large sento. It is not the cleanest sento. It does not have the most baths, and some of those baths it did have were broken. What it had was a great atmosphere thanks to the staff.
There were only 3 men with me in the baths making the sento seem even larger. The indoor area is a simple white tile, but the baths were big and comfortable. In the back corner there is a large “swimming bath” that had a weak current for swimming against. I doubt that it was strong enough to do that, but maybe years ago it was possible. Outside were two simple baths. Only one of them had a view out to the sky.
The changing room was welcoming and well maintained, but not much to talk about.
I really liked the woman working the bandai however. She was chatting with two jr. high aged girls, one standing on either side of her. Their conversation gave the room a fun relaxed feel.
I am not going to rush back here again. The baths were fine, nothing that great really. It was the experience of going that was fun. Exploring a new place and being happy with what came of it. I was lucky to have a little chat with the lady working there and really enjoyed the night. Part of the fun of this hobby.
November 2019 Update: This sento is long closed but I could not find any mention of it online to reconfirm this review. I was beginning to think it was a dream or I was thinking this was a different place but I found this review on the great Michiken Land site.
