I chatted with the lovely lady working the bandai. 40 years ago, there were 12 sento in this area. Now there are two. Sadly, that is the state of these bits of living history. Thankfully, this sento seems healthy and happy. I will be honest; this is not the most aesthetically pleasing sento. Lots of brick, red, brown and green tiles. Not much of decoration in or out of the baths. That said, this sento is impeccably clean. The toilet (Japanese style) was spotless! While this sento lacks aesthetic beauty, it does make it up by being a superb example of what I think a sento should be. All the baths you would want are here including a steam sauna (nicely hot) and cold-water bath to go along with it. The super strong electronic bath is also a fun challenge for some or relief for others. I would consider taking people here to for their first sento experience. Highly recommended.
