Once one of my favorite onsen, Pokapoka has slowly grown out of favor for me. I once got a bowl of noodles with some steel wool in them which totally turned me of to the restaurant here. The baths are, in general, fine but my last few times there they smelt and didn't look as clean as I remember them being. Also the drains for the indoor bath make an obnoxious sucking sound that make relaxing quite hard and the entire place way too noisy. Other places have the same sucking sound, but it seems more annoying here. The outdoor hot spring bath is filled with this a wonderful hot spring that's opaque brown and mineral rich. Quite a good hot spring and it's very popular. I also enjoy the sauna here. Sadly the bad experiences I've had here years ago mean that I won't be going back anytime soon.
