Nizaemon no Yu

Nizaemon no Yu

Nizaemon was sadly not as clean as I wanted it to be, especially the locker room. The building is a bit chaotic. Starting at the parking lot ending in the rotenburo everything seems to be built in strange angles or shapes. Nothing here was straight forward. The baths were fine though and quite refreshing, I would not mind going back if given the chance. There is also not much in terms of competition for supersentos in this part of Kyoto. This place reminded me of Nadeshiko no Yu. It was a bit dreary on the inside and seemed very health orientated. The other bathers who chatted with me in the rotenburo were really kind and funny.

Good luck getting here even with a car! It is on a very busy Kyoto street Route 9 - San’in Road) in a hilly section. If coming by bus you can take #29 from Shijyo-Karasuma, #6 from Hankyu Katsura and #73 or #33 from Kyoto station. More information is available on their website.
