Kyoto sento are a thing. Well, Kyoto is a thing. Especially if you are in the core of the city when Kyoto becomes even more Kyoto. This sento just down the alley from the major Gion access point of Nijyō station making it right in the core of the core. That said, this place was pretty normal. Now I've been in small sento but this one might be the smallest one yet but also, and fascinatingly, one well equipped with all the baths. There is shallow, deep, bubbles, jets, treated, and cold in 3 tubs. Now each of these tubs could fit two people OK and three in a pinch it’s that small. The dry sauna which I peeked my head into could seat, maybe 4 people but I wouldn't enjoy that. Even the changing room has space saving measures with the only toilet (Japanese style) located in the entryway before you enter the sento proper. Interesting place, especially for sento people, but if you visit try to go during the off-peak times as this place is small!
