Yayoi no Yu
Yayoi no Yu
Yayoi no Yu is an automated hot spring. There is no staff on staff. You are there by yourself well yourself and the video cameras. Don’t worry the cameras are only at the door and in the hall. You put 200 yen to open an automated door that lets you into a small hallway men and women are separated but there’s not much to stop you from going into the women’s side other than a video camera.
The bath is very simple but made out of comfortable stone with a divider to keep a hot and not so hot side. A few faucets on one side and a row of boxes for your stuff are all that’s there. The water is obviously a hot spring and feels great for ¥200. Despite the lack of staff everything was clean the morning I took my bath. I guess the other customers have good manners. One guy left as I came and I think there was a women in the other side but no one else was there. The best part of this bath is maybe having it alone to yourself for ¥200.
Other reviews in Japanese weren’t so keen on Yayoi, but I just love the concept. Walk by and check out the free foot bath out front at least.
