Hikie-yu

Hikie-yu

The last bath I had in Japan before moving back to the USA. I walked here from our hotel near Shin-Osaka station the night before getting the train to Kansai Airport and saying goodbye to the country that has dramatically impacted my life. It is a pleasant walk under some train lines and through typical Osaka row houses. I even passed by the Kamigata Brewery. They are a smaller microbrewery that makes beer in a former sento building. Sadly they were closed, and I could not check out their facility.

Hikie-yu was a great last bath for me to enjoy in Japan. The grandmother working the Bandai was friendly. There were an ample amount of baths to choose from. Ascetically speaking, the stained glass in the partition between the men's and women's sides was quite pretty. Sadly, I was a bit moved by the entire situation to adequately remember or take notes about this bath. We had many problems pop up throughout moving to the USA-far, more than I expected. However, although these are hazy memories, I enjoyed this sento and hope to revisit it.
