Yamato Onsen

Yamato Onsen

When I visited Yamato Onsen when the sun was still out, that enhanced the airy feel of this place. This is a reasonably simple sento with wide baths lined in stone. The bathhouse is hidden off the main roads in a maze of houses. There is no cold water here other than a basin for splashing off on a hot summer day. No sauna is to be found here, either. Instead, you get a well-maintained bath with a lot of room to stretch out. This sento is most noteworthy nowadays as the owner's granddaughter is Sasa Izumi, a manga artist (https://twitter.com/sasa_iky).
