Minasama Onsen
Minasama Onsen
The exterior has been extensively remodeled and made a little fancy with a wooden veranda. This sento is run by a friendly-looking family, and the entranceway seems almost like their living room. Once past the noren and into the changing room, the feel is different and returns to being a typical sento. You can see how sento were built to last for many years by looking at where the original construction interfaces with the remodeled sections. Moving to the baths. There is a main center bath with some other baths in the back, including one I am not sure what it is exactly used for. All the jets were weak, with the entire place needing a refresh as the entrance got. That said, it is not dirty at all. However, there are a few places where the facilities have been extensively used. You can see how water has leaked off the metal on the roof to stain the floor tiles underneath. The cold water here is fine but is a little stagnant feeling. The dry sauna is extra.
