I mention often the birth of the supersento and those sento that exemplify the change over that has happened. Sechigo no Yu is basically a smaller supersento in size and diversity of baths, but in style it is very much a sento. The tiles and signs throughout the building are very much those that you would see in a normal sento. Sechigo no Yu is by no means a normal place—it is awesome. First off it is open 24 hours on weekends and holidays. The spring water is definitely natural—not the best but not bad in any way. Among the myriad of baths there is a cold air sauna here which I love finding. It is a bit of a walk from the station but accessible by public transport. It is also close enough to be an option for people going to Kansai International Airport.
