Some places just kind of sneak up on you. I thought I had visited everyplace near Umeda but then you find another bath that did not show up on the Google Maps search—a happy discovery indeed. Actually, this might be the best sento in walking distance from Umeda. It is in a cavernous building with high ceiling the likes I have not experienced before. That gives this sento an open airy feeling which pleasantly juxtaposes with the tight urban environment outside. The sauna here is the first thing one might notice hanging from the ceiling in the top side corner of the space with a circular staircase leading up to it. It looks like something a person would build in Minecraft. Below the sauna is a large cold-water bath that is filled with a waterfall flowing from the wall. Across from the cold-water bath and along the dividing wall is another rocky waterfall filling a very shallow bath. That then flows into and fills the main hot baths. There's a circular bath with hot and cold sides which at first glance appears to be a kakari basin but the sign says that you are supposed to walk around in circles in the calf deep water. I did not try it however second guessing my Japanese reading skills and hoping that one of the locals would use it so I could mimic them. Good electric baths here too! Interesting place overall. Worth keeping in mind if you are in Umeda and looking for a soak.
