A bright, happy, big and clean sento. Perfect in almost every way. The only bad thing is the very noisy sucking sound coming from the waterfall bath in the back. A somewhat unique layout with the cold water bath in the front. The main deep bath is made with large slabs of granite that has the smoothness that only comes after years of use. In the doughnut hole rotenburo there is a tile painting of a sea and island scene that had a very early 80's California style to it which I found very attractive. That rotenburo is the best point of this bath. The view of the sky is only up, but there's a big enough opening to feel the air. Separating the rotenburo from the main bathing area are tall windows that make it feel much wider. Shusse Onsen is locally known for being the bathhouse that one of the members of the Non-Style comedy group often went to a child. If you come with your child there is a small, but fun looking park, right in front of the sento to enjoy.
