Naniwa Onsen JyabuJyabu Land
Naniwa Onsen JyabuJyabu Land
Jyabujyabu Land is very much a Konohana Ward sento. I wouldn't expect more or less. It is not dirty, but it is well-used. Being close to the sea, it feels like the rust and stains are appropriate. The lobby feels like your grandma's living room.
You will first notice the sound of rushing water coming from the waterfall bath next to the entrance on the men's side. Enclosed in a separate room, it gets nice and steamy inside and feels like a shower at a public pool. I liked it. Sadly, my partner says the waterfall bath on the women's side is not working.
The main bath here has a strong u-shaped flow from the jets and electric area into the deep and then the shallow section, which has some bubbles. These baths feel big and inviting. Finishing out the inside is a bigger-than-average cold-water bath. Outside is a shallow rock-lined circular bath with a severely limited view of the sky. As every bath needs a quirk, yabujyabu also has a good one; a "mineral water" fountain outside with a cup on a chain for drinking.
Other stuff of note here. There is a dry sauna available for an extra cost. The parking lot is along the west-facing wall, but watch out as there are numerous narrow, one-way roads. Oh! The name! Jyabujyabu is the sound of washing up and is the default name of this sento now. Officially the sento is named Naniwa Onsen, using the somewhat rare kanji 浪華温泉.
I won't tell people to visit this sento, but you'll not be disappointed if you make the trip.
