Shichifuku-yu

Shichifuku-yu

This is a very basic utilitarian sento and it appears to be well used by the locals for their daily bath. It seems many of the baths had their jets turned off, but they are still filled with water and useable. The body shower also appears to be inoperable. The electric bath is working as is the sauna. However, the sauna seemed to be rather weak, and I did not see one of the regulars use it while I was there. A larger than average cold-water bath is in the corner. Interestingly, there is a sign in the changing room reminding parents that the cold-water bath is not a pool and to keep an eye on their children. The baths also seemed a just a tad under the normal temperature. Tiles and waiting room are also quite plain. While everything was clean there were a few leaking faucets and chipped tiles here and there. None of these caveats are negative mind you! If I lived here, I would happily go all the time, but this is not one to go out of your way to visit. The water was clean and felt great after getting out of the bath. The owner was kind and happily greeted everyone.
