Tensui-yu

Tensui-yu

Another example of a sento fitting in with the new customer base and making infrastructure investments to keep them. While the original feel is very much still prevalent, there are more than a few changes. Biggest is that there must have been a second floor area here that is now closed off using some interestingly retrofitted metal panels. Second, and also quite rare, is that they have a carbonated bath here--a rarity in a sento like this. Other than that there are new titles and fixtures used throughout the bathing area and the bandai has been retrofitted to make it a front style entrance. Lots of guys in my side with a whole bunch of different body shapes, it felt good to see so many young and middle aged people enjoying the bath. This place seemed quite hip actually. Almost too hip! Do not worry, there were also a bunch of old grandpas as it should be. Love that they actually write it out that using the sauna is free but you must wrap yourself with a towel from home or a rental one (50yen). Great option in the area.
