Spa Suminoe is one part of a large entertainment complex located next to a kyotei race pool in the southern reaches of Osaka city. The water here has that soft water slipperiness, no smell or color to it however. There is a also trace amounts of radon. The bathing area is very well laid out with a large selection of baths. The maze like outdoor area is really makes you feel like you’re not in the middle of Osaka, but someplace more natural. I loved all the stone and wood used in the baths. The only odd thing is the abundance of TVs but none of them with sound. They also have a super strong jet bath. While all the bathing and changing areas are wide, the reception and sitting area is quite cramped. On the Saturday night there were many kids having fun. A happy family place. On a night with kyotei race next door I would expect more oji-sans.
The two bathing areas change periodically. There is a forest (mori 森) and bamboo forest (chikurin 竹林) side.
